Seminar for the presentation of the final results of the Equity-LA II Project Mexico

On July 10, the Institute of Public Health of the Universidad Veracruzana in collaboration with the Health Jurisdiction VIII-Veracruz, carried out the "Seminar of return of results of the Project Equity-LA II Mexico" with the purpose of presenting the final results of the investigation "Impact of the strategies of integration of the attention in the performance of the networks of health in Latin America (Equity-LA II)", counting with the presence of more than 80 professionals of the first level and of specialized attention, as well as sanitary authorities of the Services of Health of Veracruz (SESVER).
 
The objective of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of different strategies for integrating care in improving the coordination and quality of care of health service networks, where in the case of Mexico, the control network consisted of health centers and hospitals in the municipality of Veracruz and the intervention network of health centers and hospitals in the municipality of Xalapa.
 
The results were returned by the research team, with the participation of Mtra. Edit Rodríguez Romero, MSP. Julieta López Vázquez and the MSP. Damián Eduardo Pérez Martínez.
 
During the six-year duration of this project (2013-2019), the Public Health Institute has worked closely with valuable professionals from the municipalities involved, with the aim of improving the quality of services provided through strengthening work between levels of care.
 
In view of the closure of the project, this seminar allowed the fulfillment of one of the main objectives of the research, that the participating health professionals know the results of which they are part, seeking the sustainability of participatory processes as a means to achieve better professional relationships that directly impact on the care of the population.
