Framework of analysis

Equity-LA II applies the conceptual framework by Vázquez et al. (2009) to evaluate coordination and quality of care in the selected integrated health care networks (IHN) in each country, before and after the intervention.

This conceptual framework suggests the evaluation of the network’s contexts (the health systems at the macro level and the setting in which the network performs at the micro level), its internal processes (goals and strategies, organizational culture, health care model, organizational structure and internal resource allocation), its intermediate outcomes (coordination, continuity of care and access) and its final outcomes (equity of access, efficiency and quality of care) (Figure 1).
