2019-03-22
After the X international workshop in Recife, on February 4 in Caruaru (Brazil), in front of a large audience, the results of coordination and continuity between levels of attention to service networks of six Latin American countries, analyzed in the framework of the Equilty LA II project, were presented in the public seminar "Experiences of integration of attention to health services in Latin America". This seminar was organized by the Institute of Integral Medicine Prof. Fernando Figueira and the Secretary of Health of Caruaru. The inauguration was in charge of the Secretary of Health of Caruaru, Dr. Francisco Campos, who highlighted the importance of applied research in the improvement of health services and the interest in Caruaru's continued participation in research projects.
The seminar was attended by researchers from Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Brazil and Spain, and more than 240 participants, including managers, health service professionals, academics and representatives of the Ministry of Health of Caruaru and Recife, who commented on the interest and applicability of the results to their environment as a result of the presentations. During the seminar, the theoretical framework and its application to analyze coordination and continuity in health service networks were presented. Most of the time was devoted to analyzing the processes of implementation and evaluation of interventions developed in a participatory manner to improve collaboration between primary care and specialized health services. Presentations included discussion with the public.
Most of the interventions are aimed at improving communication between professionals at different levels of care, through the creation of meeting spaces for joint clinical discussions to meet and collaborate in the care of patients.
The seminar is part of actions for the dissemination of the results of the project "Impact of strategies for the integration of care in networks of health services of different health systems in Latin America" (Equity-LA II), financed by the EU, in which six Latin American countries and two European countries participate.
